The High Performance Sports Centre in Vila Real de Sto. António is a European-level sports complex, recognised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and is part of the Portuguese Network of High Performance Sports Centres/HIGHSPORTUGAL.

This Sports Complex is one of the most accredited in Europe, both for the training infrastructures and complementary equipment that it offers, and for the experience of its professionals and specialised sport technicians.

The complex has easy access to Faro Airport and is close to the tourist resorts of Monte Gordo and Vila Real de Santo António, which is why federations of several countries choose this multisport infrastructure to prepare their teams.

The HPSC Vila Real Sto. António is located about 2.5 km from the tourist town of Monte Gordo, where athletes have various options for accommodation. Regarding medical care services, the HPSC Vila Real Sto. António has a health unit belonging to the HPA Group (Hospital Particular do Algarve), providing various services in the field of physiotherapy and sports medicine.

FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENTS

TRAINING & TECHNICAL AREA

The High Performance Sports Centre in Vila Real de Sto. António consists of 1 Main Stadium with a turf football field (104-67m), an athletics track with 8 lanes, two synthetic floor pavilions, and a medical room; 1 Sports Arena with a running track (80m in line); jumping area (pole vaulting, long jump and high jump); throwing area (shot pun); bodybuilding area (320 m²); medical area (2 x 10 m²); physiotherapy and recovery area; audiovisual room and training control room.

Part of this Sports Complex is a sports pavilion with synthetic floor (40×20 m).

TRAINING & TECHNICAL AREA

For swimming, the Centre has a swimming pool complex divided into a learning pool with an area of 240 m², 20m length, 12m width, 0.80m to 1.20m depth, 6 lanes; a 25 meter pool with an area of 412.50m2, 25m length, 16.50m width, 2m to 2.20m depth and 8 lanes; a 50 meter pool with an area of 400m2, 50m length, 8m width, 2m to 2.20m depth and 3 lanes.

For the High Performance training of tennis and padel, there is a tennis court complex with 4 hard courts, 1 central clay court, 4 other clay courts, 1 backboard.
