A group of representatives of the Portuguese Sports Foundation traveled to Russia to follow up the project of internationalization of the Portuguese Network of High Performance Sports Centres, HIGHSPORTUGAL.
Following the project for the internationalization of the Portuguese Network of High Performance Sports Centres – HIGHSPORTUGAL, Market Access, a company selected by public tender, carried out the activity 3.3 of this project, entitled “International Promotion Actions with the organization of meetings and exploratory talks in the targeted markets, advised by expert consultants to promote the national offer of HPSC”.
The execution of this activity includes actions to promote the Portuguese HPSC in the 10 targeted markets – Germany, Angola, Australia, Brazil, China, the United Arab Emirates, France, the United Kingdom, Russia and Sweden.
Given the exploratory contacts held by Market Access with the Russian market, Paulo Marcolino, Executive Director of the Portuguese Sports Foundation went to Moscow from April 16 to 18, 2018, accompanied by consultants Pedro Lopes and Daria Ferreira, in order to bring together the following entities:
- April, 16: meeting with the Russian Athletics Federation, in the presence of the President, Dmitry Anatolievich Shlyakhtin; with the Russian Swimming Federation, represented by the President, Vladimir Valerievich Salnikov; Federation of Sports Gymnastics of Russia, with Valentina Aleksandrovna Nikalorovna, Deputy Director and Russian Water Polo Federation, with President Vlasenko Alexey Viktorovich;
- April, 17: meetings with the Cycling Federation of Russia, represented by its President, Viatcheslav Vladimirovich Ekimov; with the Russian Olympic Committee, in the presence of the President, Alexander Dmitrievich Zhukov; with the Federation of Equestrian Sports of Russia, attended by Serguey Kalinin, Technical Director and with the Tennis Federation of Russia, in the presence of the President, Shamil Anvyarovich Tarpichev.
- April, 18: meetings at the highest level with the Russian Federation of Fencing, represented by its Technical Director, Andrey Alekseevich Startsev and with the Table Tennis Federation of Russia, where was its President, Alexander Mikhailovich Babakov.
In addition to the consolidated contacts with the entities mentioned above – International Representatives of Modalities, meetings were also held at the AICEP Delegation in Moscow, as well as with journalists and opinion makers from Sport Leaders, Championat and R-Sport magazines.
It should be noted that the presence of the Executive Director of the Portuguese Sports Foundation in this mission was an asset to the institution, not only in the context of this Project activity, but also to strengthen future agreements, by strengthening strategic contacts with the entities mentioned above.
